Penujak, Banyumulek and Masbagik are the three main pottery villages in Lombok, and each of these villages has a different style and method.
For example, in Penujak village women construct the shape of the pots while the men then decorate them when they’re half dry. These decorations themselves are quite specific to the pots origin. In Penujak their specialty is to the design all the pottery with gecko motifs. Masbagik, being near the sea, uses the star fish motif, whilst Banyumulek village uses rattan and old coins to decorate their products.
